Adult Bible Classes

Blessed is the one...whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.¬†That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does¬†not wither‚ÄĒ whatever they do prospers (Psalm 1:1-3).

Every Sunday we offer an adult Bible study that is designed to help adults deepen their understanding of God's Word and grow in the knowledge of his grace. Adult Bible studies are designed to be challenging but engaging. They are based on the ancient words of Scripture but applicable to people's lives today.

  • Our current Sunday morning study is entitled: Return to Grace.¬† By Grace Alone!¬† By Faith Alone!¬† By Scripture Alone!¬† Three concepts that are vital to every Christian and especially to Lutheran Christians.¬† they are the teaching of the Bible but were hidden behind so much tradition and history until Martin Luther rediscovered them.¬† This study, A Return to Grace: Luther's Life and Legacy, helps us explore why they are still so important.¬† The study will use segments of the new Luther film.¬† Watch, discuss, and apply how God used Martin Luther to return us all to God's grace, the importance of faith in Christ, and the authority of the Bible.

BIBLE INFORMATION CLASS  (Mondays at 7:00pm in the church fellowship hall)

Whether you have been part of a church for your entire life or for a very short time, Bible Information Class (BIC) is a great opportunity to study the basic teachings of God’s Word. It is also the course designed for those who are interested in becoming members of Mt. Olive. If you would like more information, contact Pastor Schroeder or Pastor Krause.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS: John's Gospel (8:15am - 9:15am in the church fellowship hall)

Who is Jesus?

It’s the biggest question with which we need to wrestle.  The answer is the key to fulfillment and peace in life now and, even more than that, to having life eternally.  And the answer is found in John’s Gospel.

Jesus is…the Word Made Flesh.  The Lamb of God.  The Messiah.  The Bread of Life.  The Light of the World.  The Good Shepherd.  The Resurrection and the Life.  The Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Jesus is the Son of God and your Savior.

You are invited to come learn more about Jesus at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church on Wednesday mornings, starting August 16.  Class runs from 8:15am to 9:15am in our fellowship hall (take a quick right when you enter through our main church entrance).

SATURDAY MORNING MEN’S BREAKFAST BIBLE CLASS (Breakfast 8:00am, Class 8:30am - 9:30am in the church fellowship hall)

Students in seventh and eighth grade take part in confirmation studies that prepare them for membership at Mt. Olive and for reception of Holy Communion. Confirmation is a two-year course that covers the basic teachings of the Bible at a level designed for seventh and eighth graders. Confirmation class is taught by either Pastor Schroeder and Pastor Krause in cooperation with the students and parents.
